VIDEO: ‘Don’t Hit Her’ *THUNK* Oops – Cop Runs Into Suspect During Pursuit

A Tulsa police officer ran into a woman who was fleeing from police.

Tulsa, OK – Dashcam and bodycam captured the moment a Tulsa police officer accidentally ran over a suspect he was pursuing (video below.)

The incident started at around 3 p.m. May 5 in the 2800 block of South Memorial Drive, according to Tulsa World.

A police officer spotted 31-year-old Kayla Shelton driving a stolen pickup. When they attempted to stop her, she fled in the vehicle reaching speeds up to 100 MPH, according to Daily Mail.

During the pursuit, Shelton ditched the vehicle and started running on foot.

As Shelton attempted to flee across East 21st Street, one of the pursuing officers attempted to cut her off.

Dashcam video captured what happened next as an officer in the passenger seat tells the driver, “Don’t hit her, don’t hit her, don’t hit her, don’t hit her!”

The officer who was driving then hit her.

“I didn’t mean to hit her,” the driver said after the vehicle struck Shelton.

The officers got out and took Shelton into custody. She was transported to the hospital and determined to only have minor injuries.

Shelton has now been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and endangering others while eluding police, according to Daily Mail.

She is being held on $5,000 bond.

This isn’t the first time that Tulsa PD has made the news for running over a fleeing female suspect, but last time it was intentional.

Madison Dickson was wanted for shooting a good Samaritan who had stopped to help her after she crashed her car on March 16, 2017.

Days earlier, she pointed a gun at a movie theater employee who caught her stealing a license plate. She also shot another person in the arm that same day.

Dickson was well known from two years before when she had stolen a Osage County Deputy’s patrol car while handcuffed.

On March 18th, 2017 officers spotted Madison Dickson and attempted to stop her.

Dickson pulled out a gun and pointed it at officers, and two officers responded by shooting at her. One officer stayed in his patrol car and when Dickson started running, he drove after her.

You can clearly see Dickson’s gun in the cash camera footage, just before the officer ran her down.

Dickson did not survive being run over by the patrol car.

NewsOn6 reported at the time that Sergeant Shane Tuell with the Tulsa Police Department said, “If you have to use any means to end that threat – not necessarily that person’s life, but to end that threat – that’s what you do… We were looking for her for a slew of crimes that she had started and we wanted to put an end to those crimes by putting her in jail – unfortunately that didn’t happen that way.”
