Towson, MD – A large fight broke out in front of a restaurant in the very early hours of Saturday morning, resulting in numerous arrests as police jumped in the fight (video above.)
A bystander captured the chaos on video and posted it to Facebook.
The video showed a group of young adults shoving and hitting each other, and several young men being pushed to the ground, in front of The Melting Pot at 418 York Road in Towson.
Baltimore County Police Corporal Shawn Vinson, told Blue Lives Matter that three Baltimore County officers were working a foot patrol in the commercial area near Towson University at about 1:44 a.m. on March 3, when they came upon a fight that was taking place on the sidewalk.
“They saw a male holding another male to the ground. And then they saw a second person kick the person who was on the ground,” Cpl. Vinson said.
“Officers came in and started to break the fight up,” he said. “They detained the person who was holding somebody down. They detained the kicker.”
Police said they also ended up arresting another male who jumped into the fight later on.
“We got everything quickly in hand, and luckily, it didn’t escalate to much more. No officers were injured,” Cpl. Vinson said.
Police said that the suspect who was holding the man down when they approached was 21-year-old Mason Wilkinson.
Wilkinson was charged with second degree assault, disorderly conduct, and failure to obey a lawful order.
Cpl. Vinson said police also arrested the suspect who kicked the downed man.
Brandon Scott, 24, was charged with second degree assault and disorderly conduct.
The third suspect arrested, 20-year-old Grant Reeves, handed police a fake ID when he was arrested.
Reeves has been charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, and displaying the government ID of another.
Cpl. Vinson said police didn’t know what led up to the fight, and said it wasn’t known whether the men arrested were Towson University students.
