VIDEO: Columbus Police End Pursuit By Ramming Suspect Off Road

Columbus Police rammed a vehicle off of the road to end a pursuit.

Columbus, OH – Two suspects are in custody after what started as a pursuit of a Penske truck.

Just after 1 p.m. on Sunday, two suspects stole a Penske moving truck in the Easton area, according to 10TV.

Officers located the truck and started a pursuit, but backed off as the vehicle entered a busy area. The driver of the vehicle then escaped while the passenger stayed with the vehicle and was taken into custody.

The police used a helicopter to track the driver as he broke into a nearby home, which was occupied at the time. He then stole an Audi from the house and led police on another pursuit.

Cell phone video from Heidi Oliver shows police officers ending the pursuit at Hamilton Road, north of Morse Road, according to WCMH.

A Gahanna police officer rammed the vehicle off of the road and the driver was taken into custody. The officer’s airbags deployed, but they are expected to be OK.
