VIDEO: Armed Robber Charges Officer – You Know What Happened Next

A Kentucky officer shot an armed robber on Wednesday night. The incident was captured on video.

Louisville, KY – The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has released footage of an officer-involved shooting of an armed man who had robbed a Family Dollar store on Wednesday night (video below.)

The gunman, Dominique Hardiman, exited the store from a side-rear door, and charged towards a police officer with a gun in his hand, the video showed.

Hardiman, 24, was charged with robbery and three counts of wanton endangerment, LMPD Public Integrity Unit Lieutenant Aaron Crowell said in a Thursday press conference.

The LMPD released the bodycam footage of the officer-involved shooting at the conclusion of the conference.

According to Lt. Crowell, Hardiman entered the Family Dollar store at 8:45 p.m. and brandished a weapon.

He then fired “multiple shots” inside the store, and robbed cash from the business, Lt. Crowell said.

LMPD was alerted about the incident at 8:47 p.m., and the caller reported that the armed gunman was still inside.

Officers arrived on scene within two minutes of receiving the call, and found that all of the doors to the business were locked.

In the video, officers were seen outside the store, where they told someone parked in the car to leave the area.

“What about the back? We got the back?” Officer Michael Roberson asked.

Officer Roberson, a 12-year veteran of the department, rushed towards the back side of the building.

The robber bolted out the side-rear door of the business with a gun in his hand within a second after Officer Roberson passed by.

The video showed the officer turning toward Hardiman, who ran directly at him, with a gun in his hand.

“He was immediately confronted by Officer Roberson who discharged his service weapon, striking Mr. Hardiman one time in the thigh,” Lt. Crowell recounted.

“Mr. Hardiman went down at the scene immediately. He was taken into custody without further incident and officers immediately administered first aid, until units arrived and transported Mr. Hardiman to University Hospital,” Lt. Crowell said.

No officers were injured, police said.

The bullet traveled through Hardiman’s leg. He was treated at University Hospital and released into custody a short while later.

Hardiman is being held on $10,000 bond for robbery, but was given no bond 7for the three counts of wanton endangerment.

Officer Roberson was placed on administrative reassignment pending investigation of the officer-involved shooting.

You can see the bodycam video below. That action starts at about the 1:50 mark:
