Rocklin, CA – A supporter of President Donald Trump said his family has endured so much harassment from his Vice President Joe Biden-supporting neighbors that he’s been left with no option but to file a restraining order against them.
“I didn’t want to do this,” Rocklin resident Michael Mason told WMAQ. “They’re making me have to do this.”
Mason said his neighbors and their children – who live two houses down the street from his – have been writing “LGBTQ” and “BLM” in chalk out in front of his house.
“I went down there and asked them, ‘Well, why didn’t you write this in front of your house, or anybody else’s house? Why mine?’” he told WMAQ, referring to the chalk messages. “They just laughed at me.”
The children have also been harassing his family by reciting Biden chants outside the Mason family’s home – an act he said was captured by his Ring camera.
Mason said his own children don’t want to go outside anymore because of the constant taunts.
“I’m tired of getting harassed all the time,” he told WMAQ.
Police even had to respond to the neighborhood on Saturday due to problems between the two families after some media outlets declared Biden the winner of the Presidential election.
Mason said he was the one who placed the call asking for officers to respond.
“It’s absolutely insane,” said Sean Millard, whose home is between the sparring households. “It’s horrible.”
Mason ultimately resorted to filing a restraining order against his neighbors in an effort to ensure they cannot come within 100 feet of his family or property, WMAQ reported.
Mason said his family is also planning to move out of the neighborhood.
The residents named in the restraining order refused to comment on the situation, according to WMAQ.
