San Antonio, TX – A prepared father opened fire on a “peeping Tom” he caught looking into his daughter’s bedroom window on Wednesday night on the northwest side of San Antonio.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 the Oaks at La Cantera Apartments located off Seco Creek and Chase Hill Boulevard, WOAI reported.
The man told police that his daughter ran out of her room and told him that there was someone peeping into her bedroom window, staring at her.
So, the father went outside to see what was going on, WOAI reported.
He found the suspect standing outside his little girl’s window and confronted him, according to police.
The father told police that the suspect outside his daughter’s window lunged at him with a knife, WOAI reported.
Police said the father drew a gun from a holster on his hip and opened fire on the knife-wielding assailant, according to KSAT.
The father told police that he fired several shots at the suspect and the man fled, according to WOAI.
San Antonio police said they do not know if the suspect was struck by any of the father’s bullets.
Investigators said they didn’t find any blood in the vicinity of the incident, KSAT reported.
Police also didn’t find anyone in the nearby area suffering from gunshot wounds, WFAA reported.
The San Antonio police helicopter, Eagle, was deployed to help search for the knife-wielding suspect but officers were unable to locate anyone.
Police officials have said the father who shot at the peeper was not expected to face any criminal charges in connection with the incident, WFAA reported.
The suspect is described as a male in his 30s with a beard, according to authorities.
San Antonio police said they are actively investigating the incident, WFAA reported.
