Los Angeles, CA – Actress Anne Heche had illegal drugs in her system when she slammed her Mini Cooper into a home in Mar Vista last week, causing a massive fire that destroyed the residence.
Heche, 53, was critically injured in the crash that occurred on Aug. 5 and remains in a coma at a Los Angeles hospital, FOX News reported.
Sources said that results from blood tests that were performed on the actress at the hospital after she was rescued from her burning vehicle showed she had cocaine in her system, TMZ reported.
The actress may have also had fentanyl in her system, but sources said officials were waiting for additional toxicology results to come back before making a conclusion on that.
However, Heche was not under the influence of alcohol when she sped down a residential street and slammed into a car, a garage, and ultimately, into an occupied home, TMZ reported.
The crash ignited a huge fire and Heche was severely burned.
An eerie video of her rescue from the burned car as firefighters fought to extinguish the blaze showed a victim on a stretcher completely covered with a white sheet.
Firefighters quickly rushed the gurney across the street to a waiting ambulance.
Just as they reached the waiting vehicle, Heche sat up on the stretcher and flopped forward, the video showed.

Sources said that was the last time that Heche was conscious and alert, and she has “has not improved since she was admitted to the hospital” suffering from serious burns and other injuries, FOX News reported.
The woman who was inside the house when Heche’s car slammed into it suffered only minor injuries, but her residence was destroyed by the flames and firefighters’ efforts to rescue the actress from her burning vehicle.

It turned out that shortly before her fiery crash, Heche was involved in a hit-and-run accident.
Video posted to social media allegedly showed her blue Mini Cooper fleeing the scene of another wreck.
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officials have said Heche is under investigation for the hit-and-run.
LAPD Officer Jeff Lee told CNN that police were also investigating Heche for possible felony DUI charges related to her second crash.
“Her blood showed signs of impairment and that is why it is now being investigated as a felony traffic collision,” Officer Lee explained.
Police said additional testing was required to rule out any other substances that may have been administered to the badly-burned actress after the wreck, CNN reported.
Heche remained in critical condition in the Grossman Burn Center on Thursday.
“She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention,” a spokesperson for Heche told CNN.
