Sheriff’s Welcome Sign Promises Gruesome End To Potential Criminals

A Georgia sheriff posted a concealed carry warning on a new welcome sign for his county.

Harris County, GA – The sheriff of Harris County has posted a welcome sign to educate new arrivals on special statistics of his county, and it quickly went viral.

“Welcome to Harris County, Georgia – Our citizens have concealed weapons. If you kill someone, we might kill you back. We have ONE jail and 356 cemeteries. Enjoy your stay! Sheriff Mike Jolley,” reads the welcome message to visitors.

Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley has posted politically incorrect signage before, and it went viral on that occasion, too.

In November of 2015, Sheriff Jolley told the Ledger-Enquirer he was trying to “stir people’s belief and patriotism” when he used his own money to make and install a sign that announced his county was politically incorrect.

“WARNING: Harris County is politically incorrect. We say: Merry Christmas, God Bless America and In God We Trust. We salute our troops and our flag. If this offends you… LEAVE!” the sign in front of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office read.

“It’s time for the silent majority to stand up for our beliefs and not be ashamed,” Sheriff Jolley told the Ledger-Enquirer at the time.

The sheriff spent $553 of his own money on that sign, but said that once it was posted, local supporters began writing him checks to cover its expense.

He told the Ledger-Enquirer the sign had “been purchased double.”

Some citizens wanted one of the signs to post on their own property, Sheriff Jolley said.

The sheriff told FOX News that he had no problem discussing the signs with people who disagreed with him.

“I spent 20 years in the army to give everyone the right to disagree with me or anyone else,” Sheriff Jolley said. “Hopefully, if they disagree, they can voice that opinion. But if it offends them, truly offends them, maybe they’re in the wrong country.”

Interestingly, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office website has a link for “Politically Incorrect T-Shirts” on its top navigation bar. The page links to a shop in Harris County called Boutique on the Square that sold trash cans and other items with Sheriff Jolley’s politically incorrect slogans on them.
