Security Guards Stand Back And Watch As Woman Is Raped Behind Bar

A Florida woman's rape behind a Chicago restaurant was captured by surveillance cameras in the alley.

Chicago, IL – A surveillance video captured video of Florida woman’s rape in an alley behind a popular Chicago establishment and now she is suing the bar for letting it happen.

The incident occurred on Oct. 18 after the unidentified, 20-something woman won a weekend getaway trip to Chicago, WFLD reported.

The victim’s attorneys said she was at a popular restaurant called El Hefe on Hubbard when she started feeling sick.

“She may have been drugged or something had been given to her to manipulate her and she deteriorated very quickly,” attorney Brian Monico told reporters at a press conference on Monday.

El Hefe claimed that their security cameras weren’t working on the night of the incident, but surveillance cameras from the alley behind the bar captured what happened outside in disturbing detail, WFLD reported.

The video from one camera in the alley showed two El Hefe bouncers opening the back door to let a man wearing bright red high top tennis shoes leave their restaurant.

The man in red shoes was walking a woman ahead of him and appeared to be holding her up by her neck in the video.

The video showed the man walked the woman to the end of the alley and sexually assaulted her up against a trash dumpster while the bouncers watched and appeared to laugh about it.

“Not only as he’s walking out with her does the man in the red shoes wave them off, but also as the two security guards are out there standing and laughing and watching as though this is something of a joke for them,” John Chwarzynski, another attorney representing the victim, told reporters.

The woman was left unconscious in the alley until somebody found her and called 911 for help, WFLD reported.

She was eventually transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where doctors performed a rape kit and determined that the woman had been sexually assaulted.

Chicago police have investigated and continue to search for the suspect, and the victim’s attorneys think he should be easy to find.

Her attorneys have said they believed the man who raped their client was either employed by El Hefe or good friends with somebody who worked at the restaurant where the woman initially felt ill, WFLD reported.

“Someone has to know him,” attorney Robert Fakhouri, another member of the victim’s legal team, said. “So we’re pleading with the public to help us identify this man.”
