School Secretary Arrested For 10 Counts Of Raping Student, 20 Additional Charges

Elizabeth Madrid is facing 30 criminal charges for a multi-year rape of a 14-year-old male student.

Bethany, OK – A former Putnam city school attendance secretary is facing dozens of charges for allegedly repeatedly raping a 14-year-old student.

Bethany police began investigating allegations against 29-year-old Elizabeth Madrid on Friday, according to KWTV-DT.

Authorities said investigators discovered that Madrid had been exchanging text messages with the now 14-year-old boy going as far back as early 2017.

The former school secretary became physically involved with the middle school student in the summer of 2018, according to KWTV-DT.

“The relationship between the victim and Madrid began as a texting relationship in 2017,” Bethany Police Lieutenant Angelo Orefice said. “The relationship did not become physical until the summer of 2018.”

Police said the sexual assaults against the victim continued until Madrid was caught on March 1.

Madrid is no longer working for the school district, according to KWTV-DT.

“The Putnam City School District, along with the Putnam City Campus Police Department, are fully cooperating and assisting in this investigation,” according to a press release from the Bethany Police Department, KFOR reported.

Madrid was arrested and charged with 10 counts of second-degree rape and 20 counts of lewd acts with a child.

She was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail and is being held on a $550,000 bond, KOCO reported.
