Worcester, MA – Rosie O’Donnell is in love with a cop, and she told the world about it this week.
“I am in love. It’s the first time I’ve dated someone younger than me and it’s a very trippy thing,” said Rosie told Howard Stern on his show Monday night.
The younger woman is 33-year-old Elizabeth Rooney, a police officer on the Worcester Police Mounted Unit.
O’Donnell, 55, said she met Officer Rooney at a charity even in Boston, where she mistook her future lady love for rock star Pink, according to the Daily Mail.
O’Donnell told Stern she had resisted the idea of dating originally, but is super happy in her relationship with Officer Rooney.
“I’ve been dating a woman who’s a police officer from Worcester and she’s on the [mounted] division so she rides a horse every day,” O’Donnell told People.
“She was in the Army for eight years. She was an undefeated boxing champion in the Army,” O’Donnell said.
“We are both huge UFC enthusiasts. … It’s fun to have someone to watch it with because nobody in my house cared. She’s wonderful,” she said. However, she said marriage will never be in the cards for the two of them because she’s never getting married again.
O’Donnell’s second ex-wife, Michelle Rounds, committed suicide in September, and O’Donnell is raising their adopted daughter Dakota.
She was married to Rounds for four years, but only together with her for two. O’Donnell was previously married to Kelli Carpenter.
Before O’Donnell met Officer Rooney, she made headlines for her affair with married former Broadway actress Dana Caruso Schiff, whose husband, billionaire investment banker David “Scott” Schiff, filed for divorce in March 2016, according to the Daily Beast.
