Police: 16-Year-Old Blasted In Face By Friend During ‘No Lackin’ Challenge’ Game

Raul Garcia, 17, allegedly blasted his friend in the face during the "game."

Anderson, TX – A 16-year-old Texas boy was struck in the face by a bullet while playing an Internet challenge game where friends draw weapons on each other to see if the other one is carrying.

Raul Garcia, 17, is accused of discharging his weapon at his 16-year-old friend during the “No Lackin’ Challenge game.”

The incident occurred at 5:34 p.m. June 10, according to the Houston Chronicle.

In the challenge, a friend pulls out a firearm and points it at another friend to see if they also are carrying a firearm.

The friend is supposed to then pull out their weapon and point it back at the other person and say, “No.”

Garcia and his friend had both obtained two pistols, according to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office. The police didn’t say how the teenagers got the guns.

According to the police, Garcia’s weapon went off when he was pointing it at his friend, and hit his friend in the face. Garcia then threw both weapons out the car window, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Garcia called 911 afterwards and told the dispatcher he was driving his friend to a hospital in Huntsville because his friend was shot.

When he arrived at the hospital, Garcia was met by members of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol. He was placed under arrest.

Police were able to go back and search for the weapon used in the shooting and recover it and other evidence.

Garica is in the Grimes County Jail and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. That’s a second-degree felony and he faces a prison sentence of 2 to 20 years.

In January, a 17-year-old Memphis, Tennessee boy was hit in the head by his friend while playing “No Lackin’ Challenge.”
