San Antonio, TX – An off-duty San Antonio police officer was arrested Friday morning after allegedly punching a romantic rival in the face.
The incident happened at around 3:19 a.m. Friday morning when Officer Nicolette Muniz went to the woman’s home in the 300 block of Sprucewood Lane, according to KSAT.
Muniz allegedly confronted the unidentified woman about being romantically involved with Muniz’ boyfriend.
During the confrontation, Muniz allegedly punched the other woman in the face and neck, according to police.
Police responded and arrested Muniz on a Class A Misdemeanor for family violence.
Muniz will be placed on administrative leave pending an internal and criminal investigation. When the criminal investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the District Attorney to make a final charging decision, according to the department.
Her arrest sparked public interest into her booking location and bail amount.
Local sources advised Blue Lives Matter that Muniz would have been allowed to bail out of jail after her arraignment.
