NYPD Posts Trophy Shot Of ‘Firearm’ They Took Off The Streets

The New York Police Department proudly posted a trophy shot of the "firearm" they took from a gang member.

New York, NY – The New York Police Department took to social media Monday to post a trophy shot with their officers posing with a gun they took off the streets.

The alleged gun appears to be a completely non-functional revolver with no grip, weld marks on the barrel, and no apparent firing mechanism. It’s not even clear if the “gun” was ever an actual firearm.

Shortly after posting the photos, they were promptly mocked in hundreds of social media comments.

“This firearm may not look like much, but it is still very dangerous in the wrong hands,” NYPD said on their Facebook post. “Thankfully our Transit officers from District 34 were able to recover it after breaking up a fight near their precinct and placed the known gang member who possessed it under arrest.”

No further information was released about the suspect who was in possession of the gun.
