NFL Player Arrested For Bomb Threat

A Green Bay Packer was arrested after the bomb threat.

Los Angeles, CA – National Football League (NFL) player Trevor Davis was arrested Sunday for making a bomb threat at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Davis, who is a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, and a female companion were checking in at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter at LAX on April 8 when the incident occurred, according to USA Today.

The ticket agent asked Davis and the woman if they had packed any of the things on the list of unapproved items, such as aerosol cans, knives or explosives, according to Los Angeles Airport Police Spokesman Rob Pedregon.

Pedregon said those are standard questions passengers are asked before checking in for their flight.

Davis turned to the woman accompanying him and said, “Yeah, did you pack the explosives?” USA Today reported.

There were conflicting reports on how Davis’ female companion responded when asked about packing explosives.

TMZ reported that the woman said, “No” and attempted to get Davis to stop joking around.

However, CBS Sports reported that Davis’ companion replied “Yes,” and was playing along with the joke.

Davis, 24, did say “Just kidding,” but it was too late for authorities at that point, according to TMZ. The police were called and Davis was taken into custody.

He was charged with a misdemeanor charge of making a bomb threat.

The NFL player was booked into a Los Angeles jail at about noon Sunday and was released within the hour on $15,000 bail. He was given a May 3 court date.

“The Packers are aware of the matter involving Trevor Davis,” the NFL team said in a statement released to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We are in the process of gathering more information and we will refrain from making any further comment as it is on ongoing legal matter.”

Davis was the 5th round draft pick of the Packers in 2016. In two seasons, he caught eight passes for 94 yards and made one touchdown.
