Columbus, OH – A murder suspect was arrested at the Italian Village home of Ohio State Representative Kristin Boggs on Wednesday.
Boggs said she had no idea the man living in an apartment above her garage with her nanny was a wanted fugitive, WSYX reported.
“It’s terrifying. It’s absolutely terrifying,” she told the news outlet later that day.
Boggs said she had just wrapped up a Zoom meeting and was in the middle of a phone call when she heard someone knocking at her door on Sept. 9.
She opened the door to find U.S. Marshals and Columbus police standing outside, WSYX reported.
The officers asked for her consent to search the apartment above her garage, and told her they believed 24-year-old murder suspect Cameron Bowen was possibly inside.
“They showed us a picture of that person and we recognized that person as someone who has been spending time with our nanny,” Boggs told WSYX. “We had no idea what was going on. Absolutely completely caught off guard, completely shocked.”
Officers located Bowen inside the apartment, and also arrested Boggs’ nanny, Iris Green, on an obstruction of official business charge.

Boggs said that she has met Bowen on multiple occasions, but she insisted she had no idea that he was suspected of murdering someone.
“I’m very thankful that, you know, he did not interact with us, he did not interact with our children, but this idea that, you know, he was in such close proximity and he was spending time with someone that we considered a part of our family because she was with us every day,” Boggs told WSYX. “We’re really shaken up about it.”
Boggs said that her family hired Green several months ago when she found her self unexpectedly in need of childcare due to the stay-at-home order, 614now reported.
“We did our research and made a hire that came highly recommended,” she said.
Boggs thanked police for how they handled Bowen’s arrest, and said her family will continue to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
Bowen’s brother, Dejuan Bowen, was also arrested in connection with the same homicide back in May, according to WSYX.
The brothers are accused of fatally shooting 28-year-old Harry Williams on May 29, 614Now reported.
