Mother Kills Home Invader Who Broke In While She Was Showering

Milwaukee, WI – A mother of two children fatally shot a man who broke into her home while she was in the shower on Monday morning.

The incident occurred while the woman was getting ready for work on Aug. 15, WTMJ reported.

She said she was in the shower when she heard her children, ages 12 and 14, start screaming from the living room.

The woman also said she could hear a strange man’s voice inside her home, WTMJ reported.

So, she jumped out of the shower and ran into her bedroom dripping wet to grab her gun.

Then the brave mother faced down the home intruder in her living room, WTMJ reported.

She said that he appeared to be in his late 30s and was behaving erratically.

The woman said the home invader was undeterred by her dogs.

When he charged at her, she shot him, the mother told WTMJ.

“It all happened so fast — an adrenaline rush,” she explained.

The intruder was pronounced dead at the scene, WTMJ reported.

Police initially arrested the woman who shot him and took her in for questioning.

However, she was released later without any charges, WTMJ reported.

Authorities have not publicly identified the man who was fatally shot.

Milwaukee police said the case has been referred to the district attorney’s office for review.

Community activist and neighbor Bushraa Rahman helped put the house back to rights after the medical examiner’s office removed the home invader’s body, WTMJ reported.

Rahman called the shooting a clear case of self-defense.

“She was scared because her children were there with her. So, she did what any mother would do. She defended her children,” she said. “It was an act of self-defense.”

The mother who shot the home invader said her children are traumatized by what happened, WTMJ reported.

She said that she plans to move her family out of that residence as soon as she can find another place for them to live.

Meanwhile, she’s hoping she won’t face any charges.

“It was an act of self-defense. Somebody comes in your house, what do you call it?” Rahman asked.
