Mother Accused Of Murdering Husband, Having Kids Help Clean Up Dismembered Body

La Porte, IN – Investigators have arrested a woman accused of murdering her husband, chopping up his body, and getting her two children to help stuff his corpse into a plastic tote.

The ages of the two children have not been released, but court documents indicated they are both under the age of 16, WBND reported.

Thessalonica Allen, 34, was arrested on Monday and charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, altering the scene of death, two counts of neglect of a dependent, and interference with the reporting of a crime in the death of her husband, Randy Allen.

Investigators allege Thessalonica Allen murdered Randy Allen on July 27, WBND reported.

She then allegedly contacted her ex, the father of at least one of her children, and told him he needed to come over because Randy Allen had hurt the child, police said.

The ex said that when he arrived at the house, Thessalonica Allen took him to a closet where she had hidden Randy Allen’s body and asked him for help getting rid of it, WBND reported.

The man said he refused to get involved and told her to take him back to Michigan.

As they were driving, Thessalonica Allen allegedly told him she had to shoot her husband because he was physically abusing her and the children, he told police.

The ex said she tossed a gun out of her car when she dropped him off in Michigan, but that he recovered it and called police, WBND reported.

According to court documents, La Porte Police Department (LPPD) officers tracked Thessalonica Allen down at a local hardware store and she immediately began crying.

“You guys don’t understand,” she allegedly told them. “He beats me.”

Investigators said Thessalonica later confessed to murdering Randy Allen after a verbal argument turned into a physical confrontation, WBND reported.

She allegedly claimed the argument was sparked by claims from her children that he had beaten them.

Thessalonica Allen said Randy Allen grabbed her by the throat during the brawl, then let go of her for a moment.

When he allegedly came at her again, she said she grabbed her gun and fired a single round, according to court documents.

Investigators said she later confessed that she had chopped his legs off with an axe because it was the only way to get his body to fit inside the plastic tote, WBND reported.

Police said Thessalonica Allen’s children told them Randy Allen was helping them with their homework when he spotted a website his wife had visited, according to court documents.

The kids said he confronted their mother when she got home, sparking an argument that continued in the couple’s bedroom, police said.

They said Randy Allen was trying to get his belongings so he could leave.

The children told investigators they heard a loud bang sometime later and ran to the bedroom, where they saw Randy Allen lying on the ground, begging them to call 911, according to court documents.

But their mother ordered them not to call anyone and told them to go to their room, the children allegedly told police.

They said she later woke them up in the middle of the night and asked them to come help her drag Randy Allen’s body out to a vehicle, but it was too heavy, WBND reported.

The children allegedly told investigators their mom came home with an axe and cleaning supplies the following day and told them to help her drag the body into her bedroom.

According to court documents, the kids said Thessalonica Allen woke them up again that night and told them to help her stuff his body into a tote.

That’s when they realized Randy Allen’s legs had been cut off, police said.

The woman allegedly told her kids to help her haul the tote out to her car so she could go set it on fire in South Bend, but the container was still too heavy to move, according to court documents.

Police found Randy Allen’s body inside a tote in the children’s bedroom while executing a search warrant, WBND reported.

They said the also recovered a knife and an axe, and that they found a red substance inside the couple’s bedroom.

Investigators further reported having found several lists at the home with tasks such as “Hit w/hammer/stab him,” and “Roll body up in sheets & plastic bags,” among other things, according to court documents.

An autopsy conducted on July 31 revealed Randy Allen had suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm that went into his abdomen and spinal cord, paralyzing him, WBND reported.

The doctor concluded he likely bled to death, WKYT reported.

Both of his legs had been hacked off, and someone tried to cut off his left arm, according to court documents.

Thessalonica Allen’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday, WKYT reported.
