Missouri Principal Arrested For Sodomy With Student Over Course Of Months

Missouri State Police have said they believe Elizabeth Giesler tried to cover up the relationship with a 9th grader.

Ste. Genevieve, MO – A female assistant principal in a Missouri high school has been charged with multiple felonies after having sex with a 16-year-old male student at her home in April and May.

Elizabeth Giesler, 39, was arrested on May 18 and charged with three counts of Class E felony sexual contact with a student, three counts of Class D felony statutory sodomy in the second degree, and two counts of statutory rape in the second degree, according to the Daily Journal.

The investigation was conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and began after the 9th grade student told Trooper T.S. Craig that the assistant principal had performed a sexual act on him during an off-campus event in April, KTVI-TV reported.

Police said the 16-year-old victim also told the trooper Giesler had sex with him twice in April and May at her residence.

The investigation was turned over to the prosecutor, who issued a warrant for Giesler’s arrest, the Daily Journal reported.

The father of Giesler’s victim said that his son had known the educator since sixth grade, according to KTVI.

He told KTVI that the family had thought of the assistant principal as an adviser to his son.

“She talked to us about my son and what she can do for him, through life, like, give him a better life because he’s a good football player, so she was going to make sure he got on the right path,” the boy’s father said.

The victim’s grandmother told KTVI that she had thought Giesler was a really nice person who was a good influence on her grandson.

“And I thought she was really going to do something for my grandson, but yeah, she was doing something for him all right,” the grandmother lamented.

The boy has been put in protective custody with state officials for up to 90 days, family members said.

“She took advantage of him,” the boy’s father told KTVI. “She manipulated him because she knew what she was doing.”

Giesler was booked into the Ste. Genevieve County Jail but was able to be released on bond the same day she was arrested.

The Daily Journal reported that Giesler worked for Liberty School District as a teacher before she went to work for Ste. Genevieve Schools in 2014.
