Sandy MaloneNew York, NY – Former FOX News and NBC News Host Megyn Kelly announced Monday that she and husband Doug Brunt had yanked their children out of private school in Manhattan because it had gone too far to the ideological left.
Kelly made the announcement on Nov. 16 on her new podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, the New York Post reported.
“After years of resisting it, we’re going to leave the city,” Kelly told listeners. “We pulled our boys from their school, and our daughter is going to be leaving hers soon, too.”
She said that the school’s far-left ideology had never aligned with her own views but said she “didn’t really care.”
“The schools have always been far-left, which doesn’t align with my own ideology, but I didn’t really care, most of my friends are liberals, it’s fine,” Kelly explained on her podcast. “I come from a Democrat family, I’m not offended at all by the ideology, and I lean center-left on some things.”
“But they’ve gone around the bend,” she called out her sons’ school. “I mean, they have gone off the deep end.”
Kelly said she’d had enough after she learned about a letter that was sent to members of the school’s “diversity group” over the summer.
The letter included a blog post made by Nahliah Webber, executive director of the nonprofit Orleans Public Education Network, which warned that “white school districts across the country [are] full of future killer cops,” the Daily Mail reported.
The blog titled “If You Really Want to Make a Difference in Black Lives, Change How You Teach White Kids” was published on June 29, the New York Post reported.
“There is a killer cop sitting in every school where white children learn,” Webber wrote. “They gleefully soak in their whitewashed history that downplays the holocaust of indigenous native peoples and Africans in the Americas. They happily believe their all-white spaces exist as a matter of personal effort and willingly use violence against black bodies to keep those spaces white.”
“I am tired of white people reveling in their state-sanctioned depravity, snuffing out black life with no consequences,” she continued. “Where’s the urgency for school reform for white kids being indoctrinated in black death and protected from the consequences? Where are the government-sponsored reports looking into how white mothers are raising culturally deprived children who think black death is okay?”
The recipients of the letter included faculty and parents of all colors, the Daily Mail reported.
Kelly’s sons, seven-year-old Thatcher Bray and 11-year-old Edward, were both enrolled at the all-boys Collegiate School on the Upper West Side of the city.
Tuition for each child at the Collegiate School runs $55,900 a year, the Daily Mail reported.
John F. Kennedy Jr. and his nephew Jack Schlossberg both attended the Collegiate School, as did Game of Thrones screenwriter David Benioff.
It wasn’t known if the 50-year-old Kelly had pulled her nine-year-old daughter, Yardley Evans, out of her private school in Manhattan yet.
She told her podcast listeners that the city had allowed “woke” leftism to take over New York, the Daily Mail reported.

Kelly hasn’t said where her family planned to move when they left the Big Apple.
