McDonalds Employee Refuses Service To Medics, Thought They Were Cops

McDonald's in Madeira Beach fired the employee who told two Sunstar paramedics that she didn't serve people with badges.

Madeira Beach, FL – A McDonald’s employee has been fired after she refused service to two paramedics and told them they didn’t serve people with badges at that fast food restaurant.

Sunstar Paramedic Anthony Quinn took to social media on Wednesday to express his opinion on the treatment he and his partner received at the McDonald’s on 150th Avenue in Madeira Beach, Newsweek reported.

“I walk into McDonald’s just to use the bathroom and an employee goes we don’t accept officers in here,” Quinn wrote.

“I tell her I’m not an officer. She then says anyone with a badge. Then says it to my partner as he walks in to order food, says we don’t serve your kind here,” the story continued.

“Just insane how people are,” Quinn concluded.

Caspers Company, the entity which owns that McDonald’s location, investigated and determined that the allegations made by the paramedics were, in fact, true, WFTS reported.

The company reached out to Quinn and his partner with an apology and fired the offending employee, Newsweek reported.

“We are aware of the unfortunate incident that took place at one of our restaurants last night,” Caspers said in a statement. “We, like you, were upset and disappointed and took immediate action. The employee has been terminated.”

“What occurred does not reflect the values of our brand, our franchise, or the love and admiration we have demonstrated consistently for our friends in law enforcement and first responders. We have reached out to offer our sincerest apology,” the statement read.

WFTS reported that they had reached out to Sunstar and Quinn for their reactions to how Caspers Company handled the unfortunate incident, but had not received any responses.
