HollyMatkinLos Angeles, CA – Police arrested a masked man outside of pop superstar Taylor Swift’s Los Angeles home on Saturday, and later discovered a knife, gloves, and rope inside the suspect’s vehicle.
Julius Sandrock, 38, was charged with suspicion of stalking, and was released from custody on Tuesday morning, KDVR reported.
Swift, who primarily resides in New York, was not at her California home when Sandrock was arrested.
Police obtained a temporary restraining order after the incident, which prevented Sandrock from being able to legally possess firearms.
According to court documents, the man told investigators that he had traveled from his home in Broomfield, Colorado, to meet Swift, the Associated Press reported.
According to KDVR, he was wearing a mask and latex gloves when he was apprehended. Police found ammunition, rope, a knife, and additional masks and gloves inside Sandrock’s vehicle.
They also discovered prescription medications – to include oxycodone – in the suspect’s vehicle.
Sandrock told police he suffered from manic episodes, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and bipolar disorder.
He also said he owned three handguns, and that he was on probation in the state of Colorado for “disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm,” The Guardian reported.
The investigation into Sandrock’s presence at Swift’s home is ongoing, police said.
A hearing to extend the restraining order against Sandrock was scheduled for May 9, the New York Daily News reported.
Police previously arrested another man, 23-year-old Justin Lilly, outside of the same residence on Apr. 8, KDVR reported.
Lilly, who was described as being homeless, was charged with trespassing, after he attempted to climb over a wall at the home, then refused security officers’ commands to leave the area.
Swift was not at the residence at the time.
Lilly was sentenced to three days in jail.
