Man Who Slashed Baby Trump Balloon Says Somebody Needed To Take A Stand

Hoyt Deau Hutchinson was arrested after he slashed a 20-foot-tall Baby Trump balloon at the Alabama-LSU football game.

Tuscaloosa, AL – An Alabama man charged with slashing a Baby Trump balloon that was in town to mock President Donald Trump’s attendance at a college football game on Saturday said he deflated the offensive item to make a point.

“It comes a point when you gotta take a stand,” Hoyt Deau Hutchinson told the hosts of the Rick & Bubba Show on Monday morning.

“We don’t have two parties anymore,” he said. “We have good vs. evil. When you got one party that says it’s OK to kill babies and by the way, this is the first time I’m ever seen a liberal get mad about chopping up a baby.”

The 32-year-old Hutchinson said he was driving by when saw the giant derogatory inflatable balloon floating nearby the University of Alabama’s football stadium, the Birmingham News reported.

“I got so fired up when I rolled by the balloon and I rolled down the window and I said something to them and I figured they saw me,” Hutchinson explained. “I figured only way I was going to get close enough to that balloon was to blend in. [I] went and bought me an Alabama shirt and walked up like I was walking to the game and like I was going to take a picture with [the Trump balloon].”

“I was so fired up. I was shaking I was so mad,” he said, according to the Birmingham News.

He explained his motivations to the show hosts.

“I’m not young but I’m not old,” Hutchinson said. “I’m sort of middle aged. I feel like a lot of people my age don’t keep up with the news and politics the way they should. I watch the news every night. I watch Fox News every night. Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity are my favorite two anchors.

“I see this stuff going on out west and up north and all other places,” he continued. “I get so mad about people not taking a stand. The left wants to use religion against you like you shouldn’t act like this and stuff but I’ll tell you this – the Devil knows the Bible as good as we do.”

Hutchinson said that he used a material cutter with a sharp razor when he slashed the balloon, which was 20 feet tall.

A cell phone video of his arrest that was posted to social media by a bystander showed that Hutchinson yelled “Trump 2020” a couple of times as he was being put into the back of a police vehicle.

Hutchinson was charged with felony first-degree criminal mischief.

He was released on a $2,500 bond, according to the Birmingham News.

A GoFundMe set up to help with Hutchinson’s legal fees had raised more than $47,000.
