Holly MatkinPlano, TX – An illegal alien has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for impregnating an 11-year-old girl who later gave birth to his child.
Roli Lopez-Sanchez, 37, was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child following a jury trial, the Plano Star Courier reported.
Judge James Fry handed down the 60-year prison sentence on Friday.
By law, Lopez-Sanchez’s conviction renders him ineligible for good time credit or parole.
According to court documents, the 11-year-old girl was 19 weeks pregnant in February of 2018, when she told medical professionals that Lopez-Sanchez had sexually assaulted her.
During a forensic interview with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, the girl disclosed the details of her abuse.
Lopez-Sanchez had “ongoing access” to her at the time of the offense, police said.
She and her siblings were removed from the home by Child Protective Services, and Lopez-Sanchez was arrested.
The little girl gave birth in the summer of 2018 – at the age of 12.
DNA testing confirmed that Lopez-Sanchez was the baby’s father.
The victim faced her abuser in court during the trial.
“This innocent child showed remarkable courage by naming the monster who assaulted her,” Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said, according to the Plano Star Courier. “He will never harm another child again.”
In addition to his lengthy prison sentence, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed an immigration detainer on Lopez-Sanchez for being in the United States illegally, according to WOWT.
