Man Fatally Shot During Dispute With Neighbor Over Grass Clippings

Glasgow Village, MO – A Missouri man was murdered in his driveway after an argument with his neighbor’s landscaper over grass clippings, according to his fiancé.

Allen Waller, 29, had been complaining to his neighbor for years about the grass clippings and debris the landscaper would leave behind, Waller’s fiancé, who didn’t want her name released, told KMOV.

She said the situation came to a head on Jun 6 after Waller went over to his neighbor’s home and asked her to come over to fix the problem, KTVI reported.

“It was all grass and debris on the side of our driveway,” his fiancé said. “He was upset but he swept it up. He went to the neighbor’s house to tell them he wanted to talk with them because he wanted them to clean up the mess.”

She said that at about 11:10 a.m., the landscaper and her neighbor walked across her grass and came up to her home, which is located in the 400-block of MacDougall Drive, KTVI reported.

Part of the confrontation was captured by Waller’s doorbell camera.

The video showed three individuals as they approached the front steps and started talking with Waller.

“Did you cut the grass?” Waller asked them, before leading them around the side of the home to show them where the problem area was, according to KTVI.

“I heard five shots,” Waller’s fiancé later told the news outlet.

She said someone shot Waller four times in his chest, KMOV reported.

“He died with a smile,” his fiancé told KTVI. “I was there with my daughter when they shot him.”

The video showed the suspects running away from the scene a moment after the gunshots rang out.

Waller was pronounced dead at the scene, KTVI reported.

“I’m strong, but it hurts,” his fiancé told KMOV. “My 2-year-old daughter cries, screams for her daddy, kissing her daddy’s pictures because she misses him.”

Police said they have a copy of the doorbell footage and that the investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing, KTVI reported.
