Man Arrested For Shooting Friend In Head In #NoLackinChallenge ‘Game’

A man shot a teenager accidentally during the #NoLackinChallenge where friends pull guns on each other,

Memphis, TN – A teenager was in critical condition after he was accidentally shot in a café when his friend was playing an internet challenge where the participants pull out their guns on each other to see who is packing.

It’s like challenge coins, but with loaded weapons.

In this instance, a 17-year-old was shot in the head when his 21-year-old friend Sherman Lackland drew his gun in a booth and accidentally shot him, according to WBRC-TV.

The internet game is called #NoLackinChallenge. There are YouTube videos that show friends approaching friends and pulling their gun out to see if their friend is also carrying a weapon. But no shots are supposed to be fired, as what happened at E’s 24 Hour Café.

“A real loud bang, then I see the guy across from him fall in the floor,” said Thomas Fitzpatrick, a witness who was in the restaurant according to WBRC. Fitzpatrick said the three men were sitting together when the shooting occurred. Fitzpatrick said the shooter Lackland was upset after shooting his friend.

“He started grabbing him and telling him to get up and then he was kind of mad and was swinging stools and stuff,” Fitzpatrick said.

Lackland was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon.
