Tom GantertCincinnati, OH – Cincinnati police arrested a man early Feb. 3 after he called the police more than 25 times for help in locating his lost hoodie.
Police said that 32-year-old Harves Gardner called 911 and requested police assistance at his home, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
When police responded to the Northside home, they were greeted by an obviously-inebriated Gardner, who asked them to drive him around and help him find a hooded sweatshirt he had lost earlier that evening.
“When police arrived (the) defendant only wanted rides around town to find his hoodie that he lost,” according to the police report.
Officers said they told the highly-inebriated Gardner to go to bed and left, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
But Gardner ignored the officers’ suggestion and instead called the police, over and over again, giving them different locations to respond to each time.
Police returned to Gardner’s home eventually, but it wasn’t to help him find the hoodie.
Gardner was arrested and charged with felony disrupting public services, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The New York Post reported that disruption of public services is a fourth-degree felony in Ohio. Gardner could face up to 18 months in prison with a fine of $5,000.
Gardner was held at the Hamilton County Justice Center pending a court appearance.
