According to Fox News Insider, the singer spoke before performing to about a crowd of 500,000 in Washington DC the day after President Trump’s Inauguration. She said “Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know that this won’t change anything.” So glad that she clarified her remarks as if that makes it okay to even think about the first part. There appears to be a prevailing attitude that it’s OK to talk about the assassination of President Donald Trump, as long as they aren’t actually saying that they are going to do it.
I can only imagine what the response would have been if the remarks had been directed when former President Obama was still in the White House. Madonna also said that it took “this horrific moment” of President Trump’s Inauguration to wake up the United States. So what actually was so horrific? She also actually cursed the current President of the United States on live TV.
In her remarks, the singer also said that “like-minded Americans need to join together to make it through this darkness.” This from someone whose estimated worth in 2016 is $1 billion. I wonder how much of that money was given to groups supporting women’s rights, or other equally worthy causes or organizations. Madonna then got even more hyperbolic and talked about how being different might “truly be considered a crime.”
After talking about how President Trump was evil and that she wanted to blow him up, she quoted, “We must love one another or die. I choose love.” Madonna then led a chant of, “We choose love!” It’s not clear how they reconcile this with the rest of her speech.
Madonna, go back to the delusional world that you and other Hollywood celebrities live in. You are only seeking the attention that you once had, when you were younger and selling lots of records.
Advocating violence against the President of the United States is not acceptable. We’re guessing the many people who could be killed and/or injured in the bombing of the White House are just considered collateral losses in these discussions. Cursing the President of the United States on live TV is her constitutional right, but that doesn’t make it acceptable. It’s scary to think of all of the people who cheered at her comments.
