Dickson County, TN – The mother of Dickson County Sergeant Daniel Baker identified her son as the deputy murdered Wednesday morning.

The murdered hero’s mother released a statement to FOX 17.

“I am unable to communicate verbally at this time. My son was a kind, compassionate young man. He loved his family, and adored his wife and daughter. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He served his country in the Marines and came home to serve his community. He was a faithful servant to all. Please allow our family to process this tragedy,” Sergeant Baker’s mother said in the statement to FOX 17.

According to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the incident happened when Sergeant Baker, 32, responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at around 7 a.m.
