HollyMatkinLas Vegas, NV – The gunman who opened fire on innocent concertgoers in Law Vegas in October was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, investigators said on Thursday.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office also released a list of the mass shooting victims, and ruled each of their 58 deaths as a homicide.
The shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, sustained a gunshot wound to the head that entered through his mouth. His death was ruled a suicide, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The coroner’s list confirmed that all of the victims of the fatal Oct. 1 sniper attack sustained at least one gunshot wound, USA Today reported.
Eighteen people died from at least one gunshot wound to the head, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Twenty one victims died from at least one gunshot wound to the chest, and fifteen people died from at least one gunshot wound to the back.
Three of the victims died from a gunshot wound to the neck, and one died from a gunshot wound to the leg.
At least six of the victims were hit multiple times, USA Today reported.
Paddock wounded more than 500 other concertgoers when he opened fire on the crowd of over 22,000 people from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
It was the largest mass shooting in recent American history, the Los Angeles Times reported.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse said that the agency likely won’t release a motive for Paddock’s killing spree until their investigation is completed, FOX News reported.
Agent Rouse estimated that information would be available by October of 2018.
More than $22 million has been raised to help the injured victims, as well as the families of those who died, according to the Los Angeles Times.
