JUST IN: Logan Mott Wanted After His Grandmother’s Body Is Found

Logan Mott is believed to be fleeing up across the U.S.

Neptune Beach, FL – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has found a body believed to be that of missing grandmother Kristina French.

French and her 15-year-old grandson Logan Mott were reported missing on Tuesday after his father returned home from a trip and found his safe tampered with and guns missing from his home, WJAX rep orted.

Mott is the son of Eric Mott, a 17-year veteran of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

In a press briefing Friday afternoon, police said they began “processing” the residence in the 400-block of Seagate Avenue on Thursday.

UPDATE: Mott was captured trying to flee the country.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Director of Investigations Ron Lendvay said they found “evidence of foul play and potential criminal violence inside, and late in the day, a potential gravesite outside of the property in the back yard.”

“The burial site was excavated today and human remains were located, and they appear to be consistent with the description of Kristina French,” Director Lendvay said.

Police have still not located French’s grandson Mott, but said he was seen in south central Pennsylvania with the vehicle reported missing from his grandmother’s home, early on Thursday afternoon.

“We do have credible evidence that leads us to believe Logan Mott is alive and is in possession of the Dodge Dart,” Director Lendvay said.

He also said that Mott is believed to have taken his insulin pack with him, something his mother had publicly expressed concern about in prior days.

An arrest warrant for Mott for the auto theft has been issued, and he is considered a “person of interest” in his grandmother’s death, police said.

The investigation began on Nov. 22 when Mott’s father returned from a trip with his girlfriend and expected to be greeted at the airport by his mother and his son. Nobody showed up, so they used a car service to get home, WJAX reported.

Mott was traveling in a silver, four-door Dodge Dart with Florida tag DLLT42.

Police have asked the public to be on the lookout all the way up the eastern seaboard, but asked that anyone who sees him call 911. They said to use extreme caution due to the firearms that Mott is believed have taken.

The timeline of events is still developing, and police said they believe Mott is traveling alone.
