Chicago, IL – A Cook County correctional officer was one of two victims shot outside a Chicago nightclub early Monday morning, according to investigators.
The incident occurred on the Near South Side outside the Hue Chicago nightclub located in the 100-block of East Cermak Road, WLS reported.
The Chicago Fire Department (CFD) said a 31-year-old off-duty Cook County correctional officer was standing on the sidewalk outside the club when someone in a pickup truck opened fire, hitting him in his back and arms.
The wounded correctional officer transported himself to Stroger Hospital, WMAQ reported.
He was listed in critical condition on Monday morning, according to WFLD.
A 27-year-old woman also suffered graze wounds to her face and legs during the attack.
She was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, WLS reported.
The female victim was listed in stable condition on Monday morning, according to WFLD.
The victims’ identities were not immediately released.
Police said no arrests have been made, WLS reported.
No information regarding the description of the suspect or the pickup truck the gunman fired from were immediately available.
The Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) Area Three detectives are conducting the ongoing investigation into the shooting, WLS reported.
