Los Angeles, CA – A Hollywood Hills homeowner stopped a crew of home invaders in their tracks early on Wednesday morning when he opened fire on them as they broke into his residence.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 10 at a multimillion-dollar residence in the 8100-block of Willow Glen Road near Laurel Canyon Boulevard, KABC reported.
The homeowner told police he heard a sound and discovered a group of three-to-four suspects who were breaking into his home through a window.
Authorities said the homeowner told investigators that he opened fire at the home invaders, KTTV reported.
The suspects fled from the residence when the homeowner started shooting.
Police received two 911 calls about the incident as it was unfolding – one from the homeowner reporting a home invasion and a second from a neighbor who reported having heard shots fired, KTTV reported.
Investigators believe that at least one of the suspects was struck by a bullet from the homeowner’s gun.
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Officer Annie Hernandez told reporters that the suspects fled the home in a white Toyota Corolla.
