Hero Down: Union City Police Lt. Gregory Katseyanis Suffers Fatal Heart Attack

Union City Police Lieutenant Gregory Katseyanis died from a heart attack on Sunday.

Union City, NJ – Union City Police Lieutenant Gregory Katseyanis died from a heart attack on Sunday.

“It is with deep sorrow we announce that Union City Police Department Lt. Gregory Katseyeanis # 258 has passed away,” Union City Police Chief Richard Molinari posted on the department’s official Twitter account on page on the evening of Aug. 5

“Lt. Gregory Katseyeanis was currently assigned to the Patrol Division. Arrangements will be announced as soon as they have been finalized,” the chief wrote.

Although the department has released little information on the lieutenant’s passing, sources who knew him told the Hudson County View that he had suffered a heart attack.

Numerous police departments expressed their condolences to the Union City PD on social media.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Union City Police Lieutenant Gregory Katseyanis, both blood and blue. Thank you for your service.
