Hero Down: Town of Tonawanda Police Lt. Christine ‘Chrissy’ Milosich Succumbs To Cancer

Tonawanda, NY – Town of Tonawanda Police Department (TTPD) Lieutenant Christine “Chrissy” Milosich died on Monday after a valiant battle against cancer, according to her department.

“We are saddened to inform you that our beloved Lt. Christine Milosich died on March 1st, 2021,” the TTPD said in a Facebook post on Thursday. “Chrissy valiantly fought cancer, but you wouldn’t have known it because of her strength.”

Lt. Milosich, 39, was hired by TTPD in 2018.

She became the department’s first female lieutenant in 2017.

“Chrissy served many roles at TTPD, but none more important than in 2020, when she became the leader and champion of our Community Services program,” the TTPD said. “Lt. Milosich’s dedication and compassion for her career, community, and people are an example to us all. We love you, Chrissy.”

Lt. Milosich leaves behind her husband, fellow TTPD Lieutenant Joseph Milosich, WGRZ reported.

She is also survived by her parents, siblings, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, according to her obituary.

“This is just a devastating loss, for the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, for law enforcement in general and for our community as a whole,” New York State Assemblyman Bill Conrad said, according to WGRZ. “Lt. Milosich was a remarkable human being and police officer – and the first woman in TTPD to be promoted to lieutenant. I had the honor of working with her over the course of my time on the Town Board, as she was a community liaison for the department. She did us proud.”

Lt. Milosich will be laid to rest on March 12, according to her obituary.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Town of Tonawanda Police Department Lieutenant Christine “Chrissy” Milosich, both blood and blue. Thank you for your service.

Rest easy, hero. We’ll hold the line from here.
