Monroe, LA – Monroe Police Officer Chris Beaudion, 26, was killed early Sunday morning in a traffic crash. He was on-duty at the time.
The collision happened just before 3 a.m. at the intersection of South 2nd and Winnsboro Road in Monroe, according to the Louisiana State Police.
Troopers said Officer Beaudion was traveling in his assigned Ford Crown Victoria when he veered to the left for unknown reasons. His cruiser traveled across both northbound lanes and hit a tree, according to thenewsstar.
Officer Beaudion was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office, according to ArkLaTex.com.
Officer Beaudion joined the Monroe Police Department (MPD) on August 4, 2016.
In a Facebook post, the MPD wrote:
“The Monroe Police Department sincerely request your prayers and support as we deeply mourn the loss of one of our beloved officers.
Officer Chris Beaudion was involved in a single vehicle crash early this morning while on duty.
Officer Beaudion began serving on August 4, 2016 until his end of watch on January 7, 2018.
Our prayers and deepest condolences are extended to his wife and (2) two children along with his parents, family and friends. He will greatly be missed!”
Louisiana State Police Troop F is investigating the collision with the assistance of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Beaudion is survived by his wife, two children, and parents.
