Hero Down: Lincoln County Sheriff’s Captain Patrick Taylor Succumbs To Cancer

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Captain Patrick Taylor passed away on Nov. 15.

Chandler, OK – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Captain Patrick Taylor died on Nov. 15, following a long battle with cancer, according to his department.

The 46-year-old captain worked as a police dispatcher for several years before he served in the Army National Guard for three-and-one-half years, according to his obituary.

He later joined the Davenport Police Department, where he went on to serve as the assistant police chief.

Capt. Taylor worked for the Sac and Fox Tribal Police Department and the Stroud Police Department before he joined the LCSO.

He served in multiple positions during his time with the sheriff’s office, to include assignments as an investigator and jail administrator.

“He worked tirelessly, through extreme illness even, making sure that he gave his very best to the county,” Capt. Taylor’s obituary read. “He was passionate about his work and the people he encountered along the way.”

Much of the longtime law enforcement officer’s off-time still revolved around his job.

“Even from his sickbed or the hospital, Patrick worked remotely on day to day matters for the jail,” according to his obituary. “It was his job but it was also his hobby and it made him happy. He wasn’t satisfied to leave it be while he was ill.”

“He wasn’t content unless he was giving absolutely everything he had. He was driven in this way but he also loved the people involved in his Law Enforcement life style and he left an impression on everyone he came in contact with,” the tribute continued. “Patrick was kind, compassionate and reliable, making him a wonderful friend and husband.”

Capt. Taylor leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Danielle, as well as his sons, Lane and Joshua, and his grandson, Kenneth.

He is also survived by his father and siblings.

Capt. Taylor’s wife and one of his sons also work for the LCSO, according to KOKO.

Capt. Taylor was laid to rest on Tuesday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Captain Patrick Taylor, both blood and blue. Thank you for your service.

Rest easy, hero. We’ll hold the line from here.
