Hero Down: Chicago PD Officer Christopher Morrison Dies Of Car Crash Injuries

Chicago Police Officer Christopher Morrison was critically injured in a one-vehicle collision on Mar. 3.

Chicago, IL – Chicago Police Officer Christopher Morrison passed away on Thursday, over three days after he was critically injured in an off-duty car crash.

Officer Morrison, 32, was traveling eastbound along Interstate 290 at Kedzie Avenue at approximately 11:55 p.m. on Mar. 3, when his vehicle slammed into a concrete wall to his left side, WGN reported.

He was alone in the car at the time of the collision, and no other vehicles were involved.

Officer Morrison was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, having suffered two broken legs and a broken neck, WGN reported.

According to the medical examiner, Officer Morrison succumbed to his injuries at 10:33 a.m. on Thursday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Officer Morrison joined the department in April of 2017, and was assigned to the 8th District Chicago Lawn, according to WGN.
