The Texas Department of Public Safety handled the investigation into the fatal crash.

“It was such a shock to everyone here at the Sheriff’s Office to receive this news,” Sheriff Soward told the Pleasanton Express. “Alan was well-liked by his peers and we are all praying for his family and the others involved in this tragic accident. This is never easy, but we have to get through it.”
