Gunman Arrested After Posting Video Showing Him Pointing Gun At Cop

Oxford, AL – A gunman who posted a video to social media showing him pointing a gun at a uniformed Oxford police officer has been arrested.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Alabama Highway 21 and US 78 on Nov. 2, Oxford Police Department (OPD) Chief Bill Partridge said in a press release on Wednesday.

According to police, 21-year-old Latavious Hutchinson filmed himself as he pointed a .45-caliber Glock pistol at a uniformed OPD officer who was sitting in a marked SUV.

Hutchinson then posted the footage to an unspecified social media platform, Chief Partridge wrote.

Investigators with the OPD and the East Metro Area Crime Center obtained a warrant for a felony charge of terrorist threats and took the suspect into custody on Wednesday.

“This type of anti-police, anti-public behavior will not be tolerated by anyone, anytime,” Chief Partridge said. “Remember if you see something, say something.”

Hutchinson was booked into the Calhoun County jail pending bond and a court date.
