Female Officer Murdered, Shelter In Place Order Issued In Baltimore Co.

A female Baltimore County police officer was fatally shot in the head in Perry Hall.

Perry Hall, MD – The Baltimore County police officer who was shot in the head Monday afternoon has succumbed to her injuries, according to Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.

Councilman David Marks reported that the officer was investigating suspicious activity near Belair and Klausmier Roads.

Jessica Kartalija reported that the officer was shot in the head during the investigation.

The officer was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

At this time, the officer has only been identified as a female Baltimore County police officer.

Officers have flooded the area to hunt for the killer.

Gov. Hogan tweeted that the state was ready to provide “any and all resources necessary to capture this individual and bring them to justice.”

A shelter in place order has been issued to residents in Perry Hall. Three local elementary schools have been placed on lockdown and students will not be dismissed.

No suspect information has been released at this time.
