Tom GantertA female Mixed Martial Arts fighter from Brazil said she stopped a photo shoot earlier this month and attacked a man who had exposed himself.
Joyce Vieira is an exercise model who has trained as an MMA fighter.
Vieira said she was on the beach during a photo shoot and noticed a man was watching her from the bushes, according to TMZ.
Vieira said when she approached the man, he took his penis out and started pleasuring himself.
In the photos, she could be seen throwing punches at the man.
“When I looked over there he had his shorts down and was standing on a path where people pass all the time, including children,” she said, according to Yahoo News.
Vieira, 27, reported the incident to the police and the man, who was not identified, was arrested. The charge was the man committed an obscene act, but the man said he was simply urinating, according to Yahoo News.
Yahoo News and TMZ didn’t state where the incident occurred.
“We feel powerless,” Vieira said after the man was released, according to Yahoo News. “It’s very strange because he’s going to be in the same city as me, and who knows, he might be in the same places. That’s why I have received an innumerable number of messages from women saying that (in similar situations) they didn’t file a report, because they know the suspects would end up being released. I think the punishment for these cases should be more severe.”
