Father Shoots Man Caught Peeping Into Daughter’s Bedroom Window

Harris County, TX – A Texas father shot an alleged peeping Tom after he caught him looking through the window of his daughter’s bedroom late Sunday night.

The incident occurred in the 15400-block of West Little York Road at approximately 10 p.m on June 27, KHOU reported.

Police said the girl screamed when she saw the man peering through her window, which alerted both of her parents, according to KABC.

Her mother and father both happened to be licensed handgun carriers, so they grabbed their weapons and ran to help their daughter.

The father said his daughter had told him and his wife that she thought someone was watching her through her window in the past, but that they hadn’t believed her, according to KABC.

Police said they found the intoxicated man masturbating outside their daughter’s window and confronted him, KHOU reported.

The suspect allegedly apologized, said he wouldn’t do it again, and tried to walk off, but the girls’ outraged parents followed him across the street to a gas station, according to KTRK.

The father went into the store to ask the clerk to call 911 while his wife held the suspect at gunpoint, KABC reported.

But while her husband was in the store, the intoxicated suspect attacked the woman and gained control of her weapon, police said.

He allegedly pointed the commandeered gun at the woman, KHOU reported.

And that’s when her husband came outside and shot him.

The child’s father said he believed he had shot the suspect once in the stomach, once in the side of his abdomen, and twice in the chest, KABC reported.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The incident was captured by the gas station’s security cameras, according to KTRK.

That footage has already been turned over to investigators.

“We didn’t want this guy to get shot. We were waiting for police to detain him because I’m pretty sure if he did this to my children, he’s doing it to a lot of other children out here,” the mother told KPRC. “We are praying for the suspect and we are also praying for his family.”

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s (HCSO) investigation will be referred to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for a grand jury review to determine if the parents will face any charges, according to KABC.
