Ex-NFL Cheerleader Dubbed ‘Delta Karen,’ Assaults Man For Not Wearing Mask On Flight

Atlanta, GA – A former Baywatch actress and National Football League cheerleader has been nicknamed “Delta Karen” after slapping a passenger on a Dec. 24 flight, and the incident was recorded on video (video below).

Patricia Cornwall, 51, who was once a NFL cheerleader for the Las Vegas Raiders franchise, was recorded on video while on a Delta flight arguing with a man for not wearing mask.

The incident with the older male passenger was started when Cornwall was trying to return to her seat after going to the restroom. She then asked a flight attendant who was blocking the aisle for help finding her seat, according to the New York Post.

The flight attendant told her to find a vacant seat until she was done serving beverages.

“What am I, Rosa Parks?” Cornwall said to the flight attendant, which triggered a response from the older man, who told Cornwall she wasn’t black and they weren’t in Alabama on a bus. The two exchanged insults and the elderly man called Cornwall a “Karen.”

In the video, Cornwall leaned into the man and called him a “F—–g piece of s–t” and told the man “f–k you” and then told the man four times, “Put your f—–g mask on,” according to the video.

During the argument, Cornwall struck the man on the side of his face.

Police arrested Cornwall at the Atlanta airport and she was taken into custody by the FBI and charged with assault. She posted a $20,000 bond and the judge said she can only fly home to Los Angeles, according to the New York Post.

Cornwall has had prior brushes with law enforcement. She became aggressive with police on Nov. 10 when she crashed her car into a tree in Florida, according to the New York Post.

The police report stated that she became “belligerent” and refused to leave the vehicle or give police her name, according to the police report. When Cornwall finally did exit her vehicle, she said she started going after the first responders.

The Florida Highway Patrol said she had slurred speech and refused to take a breath test and failed a sobriety test, according to the New York Post. Cornwall was arrested for driving under the influence and careless driving.

In July 2020, Cornwall threatened to kill her mother and stepfather and was put on a psychiatric hold, according to the New York Post.

She was living with them when she made the threats, the New York Post reported. Robert Spoeri, her stepfather, claimed that Cornwall attacked him and her mother. And a few weeks earlier, Cornwall’s mother had to hide in the garage and then flee to a friend’s house when Cornwall had threatened her.

The New York Post reported that Cornwall also claimed that she was the real mother of her two teenage half-siblings during a “delusional episode,” according to her stepfather.

In 1987, Cornwall appeared in an episode of Baywatch under the name Patty Breton.
