Driver Of Vehicle Ramming Cars In Texas Walmart Parking Lot Had Four Legs

Kilgore, TX – Police responding to a report of a driver ramming cars in a Walmart parking lot late last week were surprised to find the driver of the suspect vehicle had paws.

The incident occurred at the Walmart store in Kilgore on Dec. 1, the Kilgore Police Department (KPD) said in a press release on Facebook later that evening.

Police said they responded to the store parking lot after receiving a report about a “reckless driver” who crashed into two vehicles.

But when they arrived at the scene and began speaking with the victims, they discovered the driver of the suspect vehicle was actually a dog.

“One of the victims saw the suspect [barreling] down on him but couldn’t get out of the way,” the KPD said. “He was shocked to see the driver was a dog! Yep, the pooch was actually behind the wheel when the crash occurred.”

Investigators determined the pooch had been left inside the unoccupied vehicle while his family went inside the store t shop.

While he was waiting, the dog “got a little antsy and bounced around the cab” of the truck, police said.

The vehicle’s steering column had some previous damage, which allowed the dog to knock it into drive, according to investigators.

Police said the leash the four-legged suspect was wearing appeared to get tangled with the emergency brake and ultimately released it.

“It doesn’t sound feasible but an eyewitness saw the pooch behind the wheel just before the crash,” the KPD noted. “He certainly has a guilty look on his face.”

No one was injured in the collisions.

The estimated cost of the damage was not immediately released.

The KPD said they apprehended the suspect pooch, but it is unclear whether he will face any charges.

“I did NOT issue this pup’s license, before anyone asks,” Kilgore Animal Control said in response to the KPD’s Facebook post.
