DEVELOPING: Pomona Police Officer Murdered, Second Shot

One officer was murdered and a second was wounded by a gunman.

Pomona, CA – One Pomona police officer was murdered and another was wounded after they were shot Friday night.

The incident started as a call for a barricaded subject at around 9:10 p.m. in an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Palomares Street, according to NBC4.

While on scene, one officer was fatally shot in the head and a second was shot and wounded.

The wounded officer is in stable condition.

After the shooting, the suspect remained barricaded and has not yet been taken into custody at the time of this writing.

A standoff with SWAT is ongoing.

UPDATE: Police announced around 2:30 p.m. that the suspect has been taken into custody.
