DEVELOPING: Killer Posing As Officer Assassinated Cop And Escaped

A massive manhunt underway for the killer who just assassinated a police officer while posing as a cop.

Christian County, KY – A massive manhunt is underway for a man who allegedly just murdered a police officer while posing as a cop.

Hopkinsville PD says that 35-year-old James Kennith Decoursey was posing as a police officer when he made a traffic stop on an off-duty police officer at around 5:10 p.m.

The department says that Decoursey then fatally shot the officer. The officer has not yet been identified.

Decoursey is still on the run. He is described as a white male (pictured), black hair, brown eyes, 6’1″, 260 lbs.

He was last seen in a white Chevrolet pickup with Kentucky plate 2070GH.

Decoursey is armed and dangerous. If spotted, do not approach, but call 911 immediately.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the murdered officer and the other officers who are hunting down his killer.
