Cop Gives Break To Teen Who Punched Him In Face, So She Brags Online

New York, NY – The New York Police Department (NYPD) didn’t charge a 17-year-old with a felony for hitting a police officer in the face and let her off the hook. Diamond Forrest responded by gloating about it on Facebook.

Forrest also admitted to the New York Post that she doesn’t like police.

An unidentified NYPD housing officer was among several officers who responded to an incident March 6 at an apartment. The 5-foot-4, 170-pound Forrest was acting in a violent and threatening manner, according to the New York Post.

Police said that Forrest punched a police officer and then said, “I’m sorry I hit you, officer.”

The police officer decided not to arrest Forrest because he wasn’t injured.

Forrest was issued a summons for disorderly conduct, a violation punishable by up to 15 days in jail. The more serious offense is second-degree assault on a police officer, the New York Post reported. That crime is a felony with a seven-year prison sentence and a mandatory minimum of two years.

Forrest didn’t show appreciation for facing the less serious charge.

Forrest wrote on Facebook: “I duffed like 3 cops today .. I’m glad they let me go.” She then added a crying emoji.

“75th Precinct is horrible,” Forrest told the New York Post. “I don’t like them. I don’t like how they go about things. It’s despicable and horrible.”

In October, Forrest posted a photo of herself holding up a middle finger with a 75th Precinct police cruiser in the background.

Forrest said she called for help because she was having trouble with her boyfriend’s brother.

“I called for help, but when they came in, they came in acting rough and pushed me out the way,” she told the New York Post.

“They hit me first! That’s why they didn’t arrest me. I hit one of them by accident,” she added.

Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, didn’t approve of not charging someone who has punched a police officer.

“We’re sending a message that it’s OK to punch a police officer,” Mullins told the New York Post. “This never would have happened 30 years ago.”
