Los Angeles, CA – Music icon Cher said that the city where she resides should focus on taking care of its own veterans and residents before it tries to take on more immigrants.
“I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN,” Cher tweeted on Sunday.
“WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+ [U.S.] Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS. PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE,& HUNGRY?” the famous singer asked her 3.6 million followers. “If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own (Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More?”
Cher issued the post in the wake of President Donald Trump’s Friday announcement that his administration is considering placing illegal immigrants in sanctuary cities.
“Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only….” President Trump tweeted.
“The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy – so this should make them very happy!” he noted.
California is one of eight states that prohibit local and state law enforcement agencies from cooperating with federal immigration agents, The Epoch Times reported.
Hundreds of cities throughout the country have done the same.
“Amazing, simply amazing,” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted in response to Cher’s post. “I guess the leftists are only pro illegals when they can lay the huge burden on someone else.”
President Trump said he and the award-winning singer, who previously likened him to Adolf Hitler, have finally found common ground.
“I finally agree with Cher!” he triumphantly tweeted on Monday morning.
