BREAKING: US Park Police Officer Shot In DC

A U.S. Park Police officer was shot in Northwest DC early Wednesday morning.

​Washington, DC – A United States Park Police (USPP) officer was shot while serving a warrant in Northwest DC on Wednesday morning.

WTOP reported that the incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Feb. 21 in the 4900-block of Kansas Avenue NW when a USPP officer attempting to serve a search warrant was shot in the lower body.

The officer was transported to the hospital. He was in stable condition, according to WRC-TV.

Police shut down traffic on nearby streets as authorities arrived on the scene from multiple departments.

USPP has not yet released the name of the officer, nor any information about the suspected shooter.
